Artist Statement

ENGLISH TRANSLATION
' Recalling my child television evenings, which saw cartoons as the super agent Cobra, Transformes, Los Thundercats, Hikley, everything that of Warner Bros.. and the Pink Panther. All these forms and colors crucially influenced my creative process.
In my last few pieces there are some complaint to today's society, I capture the mythologies and everyday rituals that we have already by television, radio or the press, where I nutr to develop my work.
The attention that I lent to the problems of the urban context and coexistence, either national or at the level of a reality third mundista, affecting much of Latin America, her present in paints with colors that do not correspond to the situation presented. It is acaramelar the reality, but keeping the problem in the situation. This allows me to, play with these realities and not make them a photographic copy of what I'm living, feeling or listening to, if not there is a mutation of the chaos to layout well, composed and thought.
The technique I use to develop my work is not only painting on canvas if not asking the same pieces on whether material that will be used in these cases cardboard, ink, painting, found objects etc.
These proposals present a series of characters of any kind, policemen, politicians, criminals, national, lucky heroes, prostitutes and common people interacting and fighting between them.
Being author and protagonist of my pieces many times, I feel part of these. That is part of my day to day what I managed to make it a lifestyle.'

Artist Statement
Having been raised by a brilliant woman and now the father of a beautiful young daughter, Gabby. I am so interested in how women are viewed by our society and by themselves. These pieces represent recognizing and being in touch with one's inner child and the journey that each of us have in representing women in our society as royalty.

Artist Statement
I grew up surrounded by buildings in the inner city of the Bronx. When I have the opportunity to see spectacular settings such as trees, mountains, and all things in nature, my heart is so inspired. The memory of these scenes compels me to capture them in miniature blocks, plexiglass & metal. I love having them as minis because  they fit neatly in my pocket, like a photo, call it "art on the go", or "pocket art". I can always have what is truly in my heart and dreams with me always...
ARTWORK CREATED BY THE YOUNG WOMEN OF GEMS

Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS) is the only organization in New York State specifically designed to serve girls and young women who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and  domestic trafficking. GEMS was founded in 1998 by Rachel Lloyd, a young woman who had been commercially sexually exploited as a teenager. GEMS has helped hundreds of young women and girls, ages 12–24, who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking to exit the commercial sex industry and develop to their full potential. GEMS provides young women with empathetic, consistent support and viable opportunities for positive change.

The Art Of Beauty Experience Fundraiser at The Emmanuel Fremin Gallery was Incredible!!!

The Art Of Beauty Experience Art Exhibit at The Emmanuel Fremin Gallery

December 15th, 2011, The Art of Beauty Experience sponsored and hosted by Art In Motion (www.artinmotionshow.com) and Artstrong Bags (www.artstrongbags.com) held a gala event at The Emmanuel Fremin Gallery (www.emmanuelfremingallery.com) 547 West 27th Street Suite 508, New York to celebrate the opening of their most recent exhibit on display to the mutual benefit of GEMS (www.gems-girls.org) in New York and the Diakonos Orphanage (www.diakonosintl.org) in Carrefour, Haiti. The exhibit and gala event was from 6-10pm and featured wine sponsored by Artstrong and a special musical performance by SRC signed music recording star ‘Shontelle’ (www.shontellemusic.com). It was a truly magical night!!! Thank you to all of our sponsors Make-Up Forever, Artstrong Bags, Lash Royalty, Sonu Beverages, Organic Avenue, Essence of Valli, Anne Marie Gianni Skincare, Art In Motion, Nick Cannell Productions, Shontelle, Lakum Collections, and The Emmanuel Fremin Gallery.

The Art of Beauty Experience is a trans-national initiative using the healing power of art founded by Art in Motion. This initiative was created for young, disadvantaged women and children living a world apart to celebrate and embrace their common inner-beauty and charitable hearts. The art auction and gala event will be a group exhibit featuring the paintings created by the young women of GEMS and the children of the Diakonos Orphanage. The young women of GEMS will be auctioning their work and proceeds from their half of the exhibit will be donated to the Diakonos orphanage. Likewise, the proceeds from Diakonos Orphanage will be donated to the women of GEMS. The healing and the empowerment created by young women and children expressing themselves through artwork is the ultimate goal of The Art of Beauty Experience.

The children of Diakonos Orphanage in Carrefour, Haiti are eager for the educational and artistic opportunities that we take for granted in the U.S. GEMS is committed to ending commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking of children by changing individual lives, transforming public perception, and revolutionizing the systems and policies that impact sexually exploited youth. By linking the two organizations and inspiring a myriad of supporters across all disciplines, the possibilities for personal growth and future success for the children are limitless.

Founder of Art in Motion, Ford model & beauty activist, Monica Watkins, and celebrity makeup artist, Leora Edut, realized that fashion and beauty can serve as a catalyst to empower young, at-risk women. Through the arts, children are supported and encouraged in their development of self-esteem, creativity, diversity, and access to financial freedom.
